How Much It Will Cost To Watch Every NFL Game in 2024 – Technologist

Do you consider yourself a serious NFL football fan?

If so, you’re probably interested in seeing every game you possibly can in 2024.

Be warned: Investing in the streaming services necessary to accomplish that will cost hundreds of dollars this season!

So far this football season, I’ve offered up some free and cheap ways to watch football, as well as how you can watch every game your NFL team plays.

Today, I’m leveling with my fellow hardcore football fans: It will cost more than $300 to enjoy most NFL games, and more than $700 to enjoy “all of the games” for the season.

Let’s explore just how big of a blow your NFL fandom could be to your wallet.

What Channels and Streaming Services You’ll Need

Want to see all of the NFL action?

It no longer is sufficient to sign up for one cable subscription or live TV streaming service and receive all of the NFL games you want to see.

There are games that are exclusive to standalone streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video and Peacock. And there are games exclusive to channels that may not be included with your base pay TV package.

Here’s a breakdown of the services and channels that would be required to see every NFL game in 2024:

NFL Games Channels/Service Needed
Thursday Night Football Amazon’s Prime Video
Sunday Night Football NBC and/or Peacock
Monday Night Football ESPN, ABC and/or ESPN+
In-Market Sunday Afternoon Games CBS and FOX
All Out-of-Market Sunday Afternoon Games NFL Sunday Ticket
São Paulo Game (Sept. 6) Peacock
London and Munich Games (4 Games: Oct. 6 – Nov. 10) NFL Network
Thanksgiving Day Games (Nov. 28) FOX, CBS and NBC
Black Friday Game (Nov. 29) Prime Video
Christmas Day Games (Dec. 25) Netflix
Saturday Showdown Games (Dec. 28) NFL Network

Let’s Do The Math: How Much Will It Cost To Watch All NFL Games in 2024?

As I teased in the opener for this article, watching every NFL game is going to set you back hundreds of dollars in streaming bills this season.

And if you reviewed the chart above that references all the different channels and streaming services required, you’re probably wondering:

“How can I get access to all of this for as cheap as possible?”

Let’s walk through it together and do the math.

1. Subscribe To a Live TV Streaming Service: $292

For the purposes of this exercise, I’m recommending that you use YouTube TV. It’s one of our top choices for overall live TV streaming experience, and it provides access to all of the live TV channels you’ll need this NFL season.

At a subscription price of $73 per month for a 4-month period of the NFL regular season, I’m logging this as a $292 expense. If you’re a new customer, you may be able to take advantage of a discount offer that could save you some money.

It’s true that you can access your in-market games on CBS or FOX on Sunday afternoons and Sunday Night Football on NBC for free with a digital antenna.

But that’s basically where your free access ends.

If you want to ensure you get access to those games, as well as Monday Night Football on ESPN and exclusive NFL Network games, you’re going to need a live TV streaming subscription.

If YouTube TV isn’t for you, make sure you use a service that offers these live channels:

  • CBS
  • FOX
  • NBC
  • ABC
  • ESPN
  • NFL Network

2. Subscribe To the Video Streaming Services You’ll Need: Minimum of $51

As mentioned earlier, at various points in the season NFL fans will need access to Prime Video, Peacock and Netflix for games that are exclusive to video streaming services.

The cost of subscribing to these is going to vary for a number of reasons. But I’ve come up with $51 as a reasonable expectation.

Let’s break it down.

First, Prime Video is the exclusive home of Thursday Night Football. That means you’d need it for the duration of the NFL regular season if you’re planning to watch those games each week.

You may already have access to Prime Video if you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber. But, if you’re not, you either need to subscribe to Amazon Prime (monthly and annual subscription options are available) or subscribe to Prime Video as a standalone product ($8.99 per month).

For the purposes of this exercise, I have marked us down for four months of Prime Video at $8.99 per month.

Next, NBC’s Peacock has a standalone game in September. There are monthly and annual subscription options for this streaming service. But, for this exercise, I’m marking us down for one month of Peacock Premium at $7.99.

Finally, Netflix is now the exclusive home of two NFL games on Christmas Day. To access these, I have marked us down for one month of Netflix with Ads for $6.99.

3. NFL Sunday Ticket Is the Key To Out-of-Market Games: $379

This is the “premium” streaming package for the most serious NFL fans. Clark has enjoyed this one for years.

This product from YouTube TV offers a chance to watch every out-of-market NFL football game on Sunday afternoons. And if your goal is to watch “every NFL game” this season, it’s the missing piece to the puzzle.

However, this premium access comes at a cost. Though discounts are offered throughout the year, Sunday Ticket has a full price of $379 for YouTube TV subscribers and $479 for non-subscribers.

Since I suggested YouTube TV earlier in the article, I’m going to assume that we’re grabbing that subscriber discount on the Sunday Ticket package.

It’s also worth noting that there are ways to get discounted offers on Sunday Ticket. For example, Verizon is offering select customers a chance to receive it for free this season.

Alternatives to paying for access to Sunday Ticket could include NFL+ Premium, which gives you access to the NFL RedZone Channel and NFL Network for just $99 per year.

Bottom Line

If you’re opting into YouTube TV, NFL Sunday Ticket and the required video streaming services, it will cost you approximately $722 to enjoy all NFL games this season.

Keep in mind that there are ways to lower this cost via discounts, free trials or simply deciding to skip games you don’t deem “worth” paying to see.

Many NFL fans will be able to enjoy their in-market team and some weekly national broadcasts for a fraction of that cost.

How much are you willing to pay to get the football you enjoy? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the Clark.com community.
